Work with us
EOL is committed to research that links the resources of New York Theological Seminary with the needs of urban congregations and their pastors. We promote co-learning opportunities that enhance the general scholarly study of religion and its impact in urban communities while helping to address the practical needs of congregations and neighborhoods in a growing number of urban areas where EOL has an active presence. EOL research projects are designed and disseminated with strong input from local pastors working in the Lower East Side of Manhattan and other urban settings. We have created and continue to assess ‘congregation friendly’ tools for research and evaluation that NYTS students use to gather data on urban congregations which they then share with seminary colleagues, pastors and congregational members in both formal and informal collaborative settings. We offer a variety of opportunities, including research internships, to help talented and committed students assist us in ‘mapping,’ interpreting and promoting the ecology of urban congregations.
*EOL is always looking for talented people who have a passion for urban studies and ministry. Please send us your letter of interest and résumé. Contact us!
