What’s Going on in
the Neighborhood?

* The city plans to implement a strategic plan to strength regional business districts (Morrisania,
Melrose Commons and Port Morris). They are especially focused on developing the E149th street
corridor and the 3rd avenue corridor and are offering tax incentives to developers.
*Port Morris will undergoing rezoning in the upcoming year. The area between Harlem River Yards and
 the Major Deegan. Currently, the land is deserted with abandoned lots.
*The city is implementing a program to Protect Neighborhood Character in the Throgs Neck and
Riverdale regions of the Bronx. The Mayor has proposed rezoning certain areas (creating exclusivity).
